“Clean the slate, God, so we can start the day fresh! Keep me from stupid sins, from thinking I can take over your work; Then I can start this day sun-washed, scrubbed clean of the grime of sin.” Psalm 19:12 The Message
How big is God’s work over your life…?
… big enough that you need to ask him for a fresh, clean slate every day. … big enough that only God can clean the sin-grime from your life. … big enough that your confidence comes from knowing that your real strength comes from God. Your life can easily become routine, repetitious, and ravaged by stupid sins. Those are the ones we commit when we are trying to take over God’s work with our own agendas. Jesus shows us that a God-focused life is one of walking moment by moment in the strength He provides. Will you be dependent upon God’s care for you today or will you expend your own strength in His work? Jesus didn’t trust in His own strength as He faced the Cross. What are you facing today that you need God’s Son-washing love to scrub clean: … your marriage? … your work? … your friendships?. God loves to clean up our lives. He loves it even more when we simply ask in quiet trust. Who are you looking for help today? It only takes a moment to ask for the same power that created the mountains … His power … His grace … His sin-cleansing strength.
”I look up to the the mountains; does my strength come from mountains? No, my strength comes from God, who made heaven, and earth, and mountains.” Psalm 121:1
