How close can He get …? He is not a distant God. He is not an impersonal God. He is not a hidden God. He is a firsthand God. He is a one-of-a-kind glory God. How close can this Flesh and Blood Word get to your life? He’ll move right into your neighborhood. He knows the neighborhood of your heart really well. He knows where things are hidden, scarred, and longing to be made whole. He knows every room in your mind. He knows the memories you’ve stored: painful ones and long savored ones. He knows the plans you think about: for your life… for your marriage … for everyday living … for making life work today … for all of the tomorrow(s) that you think about. He knows all of the inside and out parts of your life and what they look like forgiven and wiped clean! You can know Him firsthand. You can know this Son who is the Generous One … True from start to finish. This is true today: Jesus wants to know you intimately today… It only takes a moment…
