Where do you find life…?

You can look for life in a lot of places: sex .. food .. alcohol .. drugs .. sports .. buying things .. pornography .. cars .. clothes .. money .. investments .. career .. travel .. on and on and on. Jesus offers “himself” as life. He isn’t trying to condemn you. He isn’t trying to confuse you. He isn’t trying to control you.  Your real life begins in Him and is sustained through Him. Anything else will leave you empty or craving more. You know if this is true in your life today. God sees everything in your life. He sees where you desperately need him and those places where you rely on yourself. God wants your life to reflect His life. He knows you can’t do this on your own … no matter how gifted you appear to be or how successfully you’ve tried to live. So … He warns you to be “on your guard” against anything or anyone that would lead you away from Jesus. There is only One who is True God and Real life. And this Jesus …  invites you to find your life in Him. It only takes a moment… 

“And we know that the Son of God came so we could recognize and understand the truth of God – what a gift! – and we are living in the Truth itself, in God’s Son, Jesus Christ. This Jesus is both True God and Real Life. Dear children, be on guard against all clever facsimiles.” 1 John 5:20-21 The Message
