“I, Peter, am an apostle on assignment by Jesus, the Messiah, writing to exiles scattered to the four winds.” 1 Peter 1:1 The Message

What can God build out of one life that belongs to Him …?

Two words … Follow Me. Jesus invited a self-serving fisherman to follow Him around the world he lived in. Along the way, this fisherman: watched miracles .. was given the ability to heal and share God’s love .. was considered a Jesus-Follower .. was told he would fail Jesus .. lied about knowing Jesus when it really mattered .. went back to fishing .. abandoned the biggest catch of his life for the opportunity to swim one hundred yards to face the man he lied about knowing ..  and was publicly questioned about his ability to love by the Betrayed-Now-Risen One. One man .. just like you .. was invited to follow Jesus just like he was. He failed miserably .. just like you .. trying to follow Jesus in his own strength .. with his own words .. for his own ends. One man .. just like you .. found the love of Jesus to be the greatest catch and profit of his life. One man .. just like you .. learned that his true home was not an address but in the Risen-life of Another .. the Messiah. God found this one man .. just like you .. and changed him with His inexhaustible love. Jesus is still saying these very two words today .. Follow Me .. to men and women .. just like you. You may have denied him and even lied about it to yourself .. You may have tried to follow him out of your own strength for a long time .. You may doing everything right on the outside but your insides are exhausted .. You may even wander away from his love and daily care .. You may be that one-person who thinks that Christ cannot be serious about living His Risen Life in you. He is .. Your life matters to God today. He wants to breathe His assignment into the deepest places of your heart .. no matter where you’ve been scattered .. no matter where you call home. It only takes a moment .. Follow Me ..

“Peter was upset that he asked for the third time, “Do you love me?”, so he answered, “Master, you know everything there is to know. You’ve got to know that I love you. Jesus said, “Feed my sheep. I’m telling you the very truth now: When you were young you dressed yourself and went wherever you wished, but when you get old you’ll have to stretch out your hands  while someone else dresses you and takes you where you don’t want to go.” John 21:17-18 The Message
