“I’m telling you these things while I’m still living with you. The Friend, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send at my request, will make everything plain to you. He will remind you of all the things I have told you. I’m leaving you well and whole. That’s my parting gift to you. Peace. I don’t leave you the way you’re used to being left — feeling abandoned, bereft. So don’t be upset. Don’t be distraught.” John 14:25-27 The Message
What does Jesus know about you …?
He knows that you need a Friend who will help you know how to live a life of trust. He knows you need a Friend who will remind you of his teaching and words. He knows that you will struggle at certain times and moments … feeling abandoned .. alone .. and without. He knows that the world you live in will continually try to tell you that you can find peace on your own .. out of your own efforts and from your own resources. He knows that you can only be well and whole in His life .. So .. He’s sending the Friend to pour out and pour in His unshakable and assuring peace. It is a gift you can share with others in the name of Jesus. It is a gift you can receive as well. Jesus is that peace that He gives and He is the One who makes you well and whole. There are indeed upsetting moments and even distraught moments that assault every reservoir of trust. But .. Jesus has not abandoned one of his own … ever! He is not unclear .. the world you live in is godless and you are his ambassador of peace .. authorized and empowered with the peace filling name of Jesus. It is to be the parting gift of every Christ-Follower wherever you go today. It is also the gift that Jesus gives you today .. for you life! It only takes a moment …
“I’ve told you all this so that trusting me, you will be unshakable and assured, deeply at peace. In this godless world you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart! I’ve conquered the world.” John 16:32-33 The Message
