“We look at this Son and see the God who cannot be seen. We look at this Son and see God’s original purpose in everything created. For everything, absolutely everything, above and below, visible and invisible, rank after rank after rank of angels — everything got started in him and finds its purpose in him.” Colossians 1:15 The Message
What are you basing your life on …?
If you want to know what God had in mind from the beginning … you look at Jesus. If you want to know how life is to be lived … you look at Jesus. If you want to know what the real purpose of you life has been created for … you look at Jesus. There is nothing hidden about His life. He as available to every man or woman who encountered his presence. He was completely available. No one was more important than the person or persons in his presence. A crazy man .. a bleeding woman .. a demon-tormented son .. a leper .. a paralyzed man .. an adulterous woman .. a dead friend .. even a slave with his ear cut off … everyone received everything that He was and is. He’s holding it all together at this very moment. The only persons who reacted with anger and violence were those who demanded a religious system and not a relating servant-savior-Son. He didn’t come to destroy the system .. He came to destroy the power of sin that grips every man and woman. He came to destroy that thing in you that keeps you from finding your true self and purpose that is found in Jesus. There isn’t a real life apart from Christ .. not really. He has a design on your life. No one has the design for your life that Christ has seen and planned long before you had any interest in Him. His secret is that his design is truly irresistible when once you quit trying to design yourself. It only takes a moment .. the rest you leave in His hands …
“It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone.” Ephesians 1:11-12 The Message
