“Live in me. Make your home in me just as I do in you. In the same way that a branch can’t bear grapes by itself but only by being joined to the vine, you can’t bear fruit unless you are joined with me.” John 15:4 The Message

Are you making yourself at home …? What kind of home are you making …?

Jesus invites you to make your home in him. In essence .. He’s the doors of His life wide open and invited you to come home … to make Him your home … and to live intimately in his love. What do you need to bring? Bring what you have or bring nothing at all. He knows about every repair and renovation needed in your life and yet He wants you to move in and begin living in His love. And love is exactly how He lives. The fractures of your life .. the scars of your past .. and all the broken pieces find new strength .. real rest .. and healing in the love Jesus offers you. He’s not going to force you to move in. There’s plenty of room. In fact … His life is “spacious” .. “roomy” .. and “unforced”. The door is never locked and you are always welcome to make yourself at home in His love. Your new life began the moment you threw open the doors of your life and asked Jesus to move in. And the moment he moved in … he began to strip away all those places in you stained with guilt .. shame .. and regret. But Jesus doesn’t stop there: He invites you to move into His life because His greatest desire is for you to be fruitful out of the Father ‘s love. You can try to build a home elsewhere but without Christ it will not bear fruit. In Christ .. you’ll find more than you have ever dreamed. You’ll find the Father’s love. You’ll find your life and the home you’ve been looking for all this time. But it begins and is sustained by making your home in Christ. There’s plenty of room … and it only takes a moment …

“I’ve loved you the way the Father has loved me. Make yourselves at home in my love. If you keep my commands, you’ll remain intimately at home in my love. That’s what I’ve done — kept my Father’s commands and made my self at home in his love.” John 15:9-10 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
