“But he’s already made it plain how to live, what to do, what God is looking for in men and women. It’s quite simple: Do what is fair and just to your neighbor, be compassionate and loyal in your love, And don’t take yourself too seriously — take God seriously.” Micah 6:8 The Message
So … Do you really want to know what God wants you to do today …?
God just wants you to be plain … Someone who lives plainly … And someone who loves plainly. “It’s quite simple: His life made the way plain. And the plain-way of God is doing what is fair and just to your neighbor. It means you ‘ve got to make room for all the “others” in your life today. Neighbors …? Most of don’t think of our “neighbors” as the top shelf of today’s priorities. But God does. Having a compassionate love means having a heart and life filled up with the love of Christ. It means you’ve gone to the “well” and drunk deeply of His grace and offered your life … Who you really are .. As an offering to God. It means you won’t try to “fix” but listen .. then ask the Lord how you should respond .. And respond with the same love that you are receiving from Jesus. The indwelling life of Jesus Christ will form your life to be loyal in love. It doesn’t mean you will be perfect today. It means you will freely let the One who is perfect love through you. Your old way of living has been cancelled on the cross. Your new life is found in Christ .. and his open secret is to work his forgiveness so deeply into your life that you will be un-self conscious in loving others so deeply in His Name. You’ll become God-conscious .. Not so much worrying about yourself but living each moment in the “unforced rhythms of grace”. God doesn’t want you
to be religious .. He wants you to be fully alive in the life of His Son. If you really want to do what God wants you today today … You’ll discover that it is a whole lot simpler than you imagine. How will you be fair and just today? How will you be loyal and compassionate today? You’ll wear yourself out today if you take yourself too seriously. How can you possibly live each moment of this day? Well … First things first .. You need to spend a few moments with the One who is more serious about your life than you are. And it only takes a moment …
“Could it be any clearer? Our old way of life was nailed to the cross with Christ, a decisive end to that sin-miserable life — no longer at sin’s beck and call! What we believe is this: If we get included in Christ’s sin-conquering death, we also get included in his life-saving resurrection.” Romans 6:6-7 The Message
