“He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.” Colossians 1:17 New American Standard
What about you …?
Your life .. all the parts of you .. whole and unwhole .. put together and broken pieces .. repaired and in disrepair .. are being held together in Christ. It is exactly how powerful His love is for you .. and exactly how powerful Christ really is at this moment. He doesn’t just hold you together as long as you behave right .. think right .. or say the right things. Jesus is actually holding you together right now. It is what happens to every man or woman who trusts Him in this mystery called faith. It’s called faith because you are saying .. believing .. and trusting in the risen life of Christ as the living — indwelling — foundation that makes your life worth living. Everybody tries to “hold” their “life” together one way or another. But apart from Christ it is still you trying to hold your life together and make it work in a fallen and broken pavement world. Jesus told his disciples that He was the Way .. the Truth .. and the Life. A long time ago God told a desert walking family (His Family) that if they would love Him and trust Him their lives would be whole. If they didn’t they would experience broken parts and broken families all their lives. He didn’t threaten .. He offered them life in Himself. He still offers life in Himself .. and still offers a way of life that holds you together .. broken parts and all. Anything not being held together by Jesus is broken. Everything in your life with Christ is being restored and made whole in Him .. because He is holding all of “you” together today .. just like He did yesterday and just as He will tomorrow. His life is what makes your life work and He is working out His life in you. How …? It only takes a moment …
“Your old life is dead. Your new life, which is your real life — even though invisible to spectators — is with Christ in God.” Colossians 3:3 The Message
