“Don’t lie to one another. You’re done with that old way of life. It’s like a filthy set of ill-fitting clothes you’ve stripped off and put in the fire. Now you’re dressed in a new wardrobe. Every item of your new way of life is custom made by the Creator, with his label on it. All the old fashions are now obsolete.” Colossians 3:9-10 The Message

Your new life …?

What labels are you wearing? You know … those internal labels that this broken world repeatedly tries to tell you that your life has meaning if you’re wearing————-? Success .. Money .. Connections .. Status .. Address .. Accomplishments .. Looks .. Financial security .. and “More than Enough” for what lies ahead. Those lies used to define .. but no more. Your new life .. (your real wardrobe) has been formed by what Christ has done for you and in you. You’ve been given a brand new heart .. A God-shaped life to love others .. Forgive others .. And live a life that carries the label: Alive in Christ — Loved beyond measure — Forgiven into wholeness. Your old life was “fired” into freedom on Christ’s cross. Your new life is fashioned with His indwelling fullness. It means you can finally quit trying to fit your grace-fashioned life into this obsolete-fashioned world. You don’t have to wear that junk any longer. No one may notice at first. You may be tempted to try once again to give the old clothes a fresh look. But it won’t work and “they” won’t fit you any longer. You’ve outgrown them because they were fashioned for the dying and you have been fashioned (chosen and claimed) for eternity. It only takes a moment to ask the Holy Fashioner to help you take off those rags. He has your perfect fit! … In only a moment …

“Let every detail in your lives — words, actions, whatever — be done in the name of the Master, Jesus, thanking God the Father every step of the way.” Colossians 3:17 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
