“A leper came to him, begging on his knees, “If you want to, you can cleanse me.” Deeply moved, Jesus put out his hand, touched him, and said, “I want to. Be clean. Then and there the leprosy was gone, his skin smooth and healthy. Jesus dismissed him with strict orders: “Say nothing to anyone. Take the offering for cleansing that Moses prescribed and present yourself to the priest. This will validate your healing to the people.” Mark 1:40-42 The Message

Jesus isn’t afraid of anything you bring to Him in any condition …?

He knew rejection for most of his ministry. He was questioned and criticized every day and every action that He did in the name of the Father and in the Spirit of love and restoration. A leper had no chance. Maybe you know what this means to have no chance. So … you ask Jesus: “If you want to …?” because deep inside you wonder if He really does care about your “leprosy”. Your leprosy is anything that leaves you living isolated and alone on the inside. If everyone knew about your struggles .. your doubts .. and your shame .. you would probably fear their rejection and unacceptance. You might even feel like you were contagious to others around you. But this one man .. nameless .. but labelled a “leper” begs Jesus for healing. And Jesus goes the extra mile by sending him to the priest so that he would be legally restored and not be branded a religious lunatic. He is the same Healer today: When you have finally reached the end of trying desperately to be healed .. you can come to Jesus and surrender to his plans. Because Jesus wants your life to be walking and living in His light. He really does want you to walk in “this way of life” or trusting Him .. It’s not easy to turn over control to Jesus. It’s not easy to daily live a life of putting others first and seeking their best. We become weary and often resort to what we want instead of what God wants. One thing you notice early in His life was that Jesus expanded his reach into hurting lives. And behind His healing is this promise: “I’ll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age.” Whatever you are facing today … Jesus stands ready to enter your life and be the helper and friend. It only takes a moment …

“Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Then instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you. I’ll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age.” Matt. 28:18-20 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
