“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God”s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.” 1 Peter 1:3-5 English Standard Version
What Thanks-giving ingredients will you use …?
Christ is risen! … It is not just an Easter announcement .. He empowers the “living hope” that fills your life .. He is the daily path of your imperishable (will never be un-new) life — He is the purifying promise that you are living an undefiled (clean through and through and breathtakingly pure) .. He is the clear picture of your unfading (The real you) life. Your life was changed from thankless to thanks-living. The greatest thanks-giving is loving the One “you have not seen” and finding your life filled with an “inexpressible joy” because you believe that Jesus Christ is the “foundation that makes your life worth living”. You love because “Christ is in you”. You see because “Christ is in you”. You believe because “Christ is in you”. You rejoice and give thanks because “Christ is in you”. Even at this moment .. your life is being guarded by God’s power. When you take your eyes off of Jesus and try to make sense of this world you end up disillusioned and distrustful. With your eyes on Jesus you discover how rich God’s mercy has been to your life and those you love. His mercy extends over the new places of your life and even over the old fading places that try to hide within. Mercy is God’s Thanks-giving gift to you. Because .. when you receive God’s mercy you discover that you can’t help but give it away with a thanks-full heart. Mercy adds God’s healing flavor to all the flavor-robbed broken places .. un-flavored disappointments .. and flavor-starved longings in your life. Thanks-giving is the everyday path and life of a follower of Jesus. Because whether high or low .. with much or little .. in strength or weakness .. and through victories or defeats there is the “living hope” born in you through the resurrection of Jesus. What ingredients will you use today? It only takes a moment …
“Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.” 1 Peter 1:8-9 English Standard Version
