So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.” Romans 8:1-2 New Living Translation
What script are you living from today …?
When you’ve lived .. worked .. and loved as a once-condemned person .. you never want to go back to that kind of living .. loving .. and working when you’ve been set free in Christ. Why would you? It’s a life-draining path that smells like death. You can still live “like” a condemned person .. but it is not who you “really” are when you belong to Christ. The Uncondemning One has written a new script into your heart: a grace-script .. life-giving .. not life-stealing. He’s come to put a “fresh heart” in you. He’s not a second chance god. He’s a new heart God. In fact, the Holy Spirit, is working in you at this moment with his ‘unending help and confidence’ .. so that you will live like one who has been surprisingly loved into freedom by Jesus himself and God the Father. You don’t have to carry around that condemning-script any longer. God alone knows your past and he’s declared that You are no longer living under a spirit of condemnation! You’re alive by His life-giving Son. Everything changed when you gave your once-condemned life to Christ. God not only accepts you .. but He’s put His Spirit in you so that you’ll learn to live as a blameless son and blameless daughter! He’s the God of unsurpassing love. It is incomprehensible why God would love us so willingly .. so wildly .. and so wonderfully. But He does. He loves to place His grace-script in our hearts. He knows that we won’t be the same as where He found us. He knows that you aren’t the same. And only God knows what will happen when you live “un-condemned” in a condemning world. The grace-script is very concise: You’re no longer living a condemned life. It only takes a moment …
“So, friends, take a firm stand, feet on the ground and head high. Keep a tight grip on what you were taught, whether in personal conversation or by our letter. May Jesus himself and God our Father, who reached out in love and surprised you with gifts of unending help and confidence, put a fresh heart in you, invigorate your work, enliven your speech.” 2 Thes. 2:15-17 The Message
