” [I pray] that He may grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, and that the Messiah may dwell in your hearts through faith. [I pray that] you, being rooted and firmly established in love …” Ephesians 3:16-17 Holman Christian Standard

An old man’s prayer … still being answered …?

You never met him .. He prayed for you almost 2000 years ago .. And yet, his prayer is as real for your life today as it was for a group of Christ followers then .. He prayed your life would grow in true love .. true rest .. and true delight in the life that Christ was living in you. His deepest longing for you was that your life would be rooted (nourished) in the love of Christ. Orphans find their way home. The Broken and Wounded find healing. The Worn-out and Weary find grace. The Despairing find hope. The Anxious and Overwhelmed find peace. The Depressed and Rejected find acceptance. The Faithful find refreshment. You discover the indefatigable love of Jesus .. the unfailing love of God .. the running-down-the-road love of the Father .. the never-leave-you love of the Son .. and the indwelling love of the Holy Spirit. You can make this prayer your own. You can pray for others with his very words. All you have to do is add a name ……….. . More than anything .. he wanted you to know .. really know .. intimately know this love that surpasses all of your understanding and knowledge. And in this love you will begin to find out who you really are in Christ. He prayed for you and always knew that … it only takes a moment ..

“… may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and width, height and depth, and to know the Messiah’s love that surpasses knowledge, so you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” Ephesians 3:18-19 Holman Christian Standard

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
