“If that animal blood and the other rituals of purification were effective in cleaning up certain matters of our religion and behavior, think how much more the blood of Christ cleans up our whole lives, inside and out.” Hebrews 9:14 The Message

You’re covered … Do you live like it ..?

Your whole life is based on “dead facts”. Christ died for you. It’s in His blood .. His life meets your death. Your death meets His life. His blood cleans up your whole life. It is an uncomfortable truth that marks you as a follower of Jesus. Your good behavior doesn’t qualify you. Your life-resume doesn’t disqualify you. Your added efforts to be good .. at least basically .. don’t qualify you for anything good. It’s His one-time event that made you whole .. brand new .. sins taken care of forever. Honestly .. there are so many things .. some trivial .. some important .. that seem to creep in and rob you of the freshness of this new life you live in Christ. Marriage .. children .. work .. health .. finances .. “your plans vs. His plans” .. the list goes on and on. We want the major areas covered and too often think that we can handle the everyday incidental items. The great lie: “I” have to do my part. The great truth: Christ has done the one-time .. one-and-only truth that cleans up your whole life .. inside and out. That truth should relax your shoulders .. release the mental tensions .. and restore your sanity for whatever you are facing today. And greater still is the life that Christ has become in you. You’re covered and you can spend the rest of your life learning to love the life that Christ is living in you. It only takes a moment …

“Everyone has to die once, then face the consequences. Christ’s death was also a one-time event, but it was a sacrifice that took care of sins forever. And so, when he next appears, the outcome for those eager to greet him is, precisely, salvation.” Hebrews 9:27-28

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
