The One Who Keeps You

February 9, 2011

“Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling and present you blameless before the presence of His glory with joy …” Jude 24 English Standard Version

The Real you …?

This is what you look like before God. you can’t “see” it now but God is already describing what every follower of Jesus looks like in His presence. You don’t have to wait and find out if you passed the test .. If all your sins were really covered on the cross .. or if God’s plans for you are really good. What is difficult to live out is this very picture of you .. blameless .. un-stumbling .. faultless and fault free .. and clothed and utterly saturated with joy. You see the blame-able parts .. You know and feel those stumbling moments .. You know all too intimately how fault-filled you are .. and You could never fill your life with the kind of joy that God has already clothed you in and cannot wait until you are indefatigably freed in His joy for you. Until that moment .. you are here today .. His risen life alive in you .. extravagantly filled with His generous love .. To love the Lord with all that you are and have .. and To live a life that openly reveals the greatness of God’s love for you. It will happen in the most common of moments .. in the frustrating moments .. in the unexpected moments .. and in those God-moments when He is gently trying to remind you of The Real You that He has made and sees amidst the rolling fog of this fallen world. This is who you are in Christ .. and it only takes a moment …

“Now to him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glory without fault and with unspeakable joy …” Jude 24 J. B. Phillips Translation

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
