“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you,” 1 Peter 1:3-4 English Standard Version
God’s life for you ….?
God hasn’t held anything back when it comes to describing the Life He has given you in Christ. The Life you’ve been given .. born into .. received .. trusted .. and are living in Christ is indefatigably stamped with these resurrection facts: imperishable .. undefiled .. and unfading. That’s your Life .. not the Life you will receive one day .. but the Life that is yours today! And yes .. it doesn’t always “feel” like this everyday. There are days when you feel at the very opposite ends of God’s whole and holy focus. But God hasn’t changed His mind about you. He’s the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. He’s your Father and you are His son and daughter .. adopted in love .. made whole and holy in His love .. blessed in His love .. and loved beyond your wildest imagination. A 96-year-old saint named Bev Shea sang these words countless times about you: “Mercy there was great and grace was free .. pardon there was multiplied to me .. there my burdened soul found liberty .. at Calvary.” And when he sang those words the Holy Spirit lifted men and women up on their feet and they walked down stadium aisles to receive the new life of “living hope” that was theirs in Christ. You don’t have to be in a stadium .. have your life all together .. or know what tomorrow will bring to let God, your Father, breathe His great mercy fresh into your heart, soul, and mind. He’s settled on you. You’re His focus to be made whole and holy in the love of His Son. This is the Life that is yours today .. and today with God lasts forever. It only takes a moment …
“How blessed is God! And what a blessing he is! He’s the Father of our Master, Jesus Christ, and takes us to the high places of blessing in him. Long before he laid down earth’s foundations, he had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of his love, to be made whole and holy by his love.” Ephesians 1:3-4 The Message
