The Good Noose of the Gospel

“February 28, 2011

“When Jesus died, he took sin down with him, but alive he brings God down to us. from now on, think of it this way: Sin speaks a dead language that means nothing to you; God speaks your mother tongue, and you hang on every word. You are dead to sin and alive to God. That’s what Jesus did.” …. “So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.” The Message & English Standard Version

Really Alive in a really lying world…?

A now Forever-in-God’s-Presence saint named Andrew once wrote: “The secret of the Christian’s life is simply the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ”. Now you know the secret. And that secret happened this way: Jesus died … He took sin down … Jesus is alive … God has “risen” life into your former dead life. What do you see in a that gospel mirror as you begin this day? You see a once-dead life that is now-alive in Christ. So you shouldn’t be surprised where God sends you today. Too many people around you see themselves as living a dead life and try to make it look alive or at least cover it with the lying layers of this lying world. God doesn’t intend to keep your life hidden away. “Come see a man who knows all about the things I did, who knows me inside and out.” Jesus has already worn your gospel noose. You were once alively-dead in sin but now you are really-alive in Christ. Are you going to live barely-alive .. sorta-alive .. mainly-alive today … or … Really-alive? It only takes a moment …

“Come see a man who knew all about the things I did, who knows me inside and out. Do you think this is the Messiah? And they went out to see for themselves.” John 4:29-30 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
