“Really! There’s no such thing as self-rescue, pulling yourself up by your bootstraps. The cost of rescue is beyond our means, and even then it doesn’t guarantee Life forever, or insurance against the Black Hole.” Psalm 49:7-9 The Message

Living in the No Such Thing Reality …?

A follower of Christ becomes a “follower” after you realize at the end of yourself that you cannot rescue yourself. We all “get” there through various paths, but the reality is that you see the futility of trying to make life work on your terms. You may be successful for awhile, but God isn’t waiting around for you to figure it all out. His mercy is beyond your comprehension .. so .. He showed through 256 pieces of calcium .. wrapped with the same skin you possess .. possessing a heart that supplied blood and oxygen .. and spoke into “All” of time: “In Me you have life .. eternal .. Life forever.” This is the Only Such Reality of a Christ Follower. You have everything to live for because Jesus was raised from the dead. He rescued you .. so that you could be free to live all out for Christ. It sets you apart. And it only takes a moment …

“We aren’t immortal. We don”t last long. Like our dogs, we age and weaken. And die. …
What a God we have! And how fortunate we are to have him, this Father of our Master Jesus! Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we’ve been given a brand-new life and have everything to live for, including a future in heaven…” Psalm 49:12, 1 Peter 1:3-4 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
