“So we are ambassadors who represent Christ. God is negotiating with you through us. We beg you as Christ’s representatives. “Be reconciled to God!” God caused the one who didn’t know sin to be sin for our sake so that through him we could become the righteousness of God.” 2 Cor. 5:20-21 Common English Bible
What are your job qualifications …?
God has called you to be an ambassador of reconciliation. Everywhere around your life there are men and women living un-reconciled lives. The message is life-changing: “Be reconciled to God”. The awkward part is you. The message comes through you .. your life .. and your Christ-on-the-cross righteousness. You haven’t been placed in perfect situations. You’ve been placed around imperfect people with a grace-perfecting message: Be reconciled to God. “Surely God doesn’t expect me to share this message everyday? Our message is really simple when you take the time to really put into words what Jesus Christ has done for you .. and for those in the world you live in. It’s supposed to be everyday language. You aren’t called to a life of alienating people or appearing as a judge or jury. You’ve been called to be an ambassador for Christ .. to represent Him in your marriage .. your family .. your work .. and with your friends. What is so amazing is that God actually wants to “negotiate through you”. St. Francis of Assisi is credited with this simple job description: “Always preach the gospel .. and when necessary use words.” Your whole life is to be gospel material available for God to use. There are no surprise meetings between Christ’s ambassadors and the “un-reconciled”. Every follower of Jesus is called into a life of ambassadorship. God wants to use your life today. Sometimes the most powerful question is: How is your relationship with God? It means you’re available to listen .. to share .. and when necessary use words. Christ became your sin .. You are changed into His righteousness. It’s not something you wear on the outside. It is His life now working from the inside out .. through your life .. for others. How is your relationship with God..? Do you need a moment to reset your priorities? Because in Christ .. it only takes a moment …
“He carried in his own body on the cross the sins we committed. He did this so that we might live in righteousness, having nothing to do with sin. By his wounds you were healed. Though you were like straying sheep, you have now returned to the shepherd and guardian of your lives.” 1 Peter 2:24-25 Common English Bible
