“But when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will also bear witness about me.” John 15:26 English Standard Version

God’s big enough to help …?

God is a lot of things: He is a Rock .. Shield .. Strength .. Friend .. Lover .. Salvation .. Guardian .. Shepherd .. and Lamb. The list goes on and on. He is your everyday Helper. Jesus made it clear that he would send us the Helper who would remind us in the midst of everyday living who we belong to .. who we are .. and Who He is! He’s your Helper .. alongside your life in dry times and abundant times. He is your Companion in your loneliness. He is your Comforter in your suffering. We need an everyday Helper .. someone who helps us stay on the path .. who helps us learn how to love the life that Christ is living in us .. and who helps us remain faithful in trusting the Lord when “false-helpers” whisper that there is another way just as equally good as trusting Jesus for today.  Jesus could have called the Holy Spirit another name but he leaves us an image of the very heart of God .. He helps us live in this fallen world. He doesn’t just tell you how to live but He continually impresses upon your heart and mind who Jesus is. The Helper is patiently making his home in your life. He’s going room by room .. cleansing you from sin .. re-ordering your life .. restoring beauty in broken places .. and walking with you in indefatigable grace. He is the Helper that never gives up .. never walks away .. and never quits pointing you to the truth. Your Helper reminds you that God is Good and the Gospel is Real! The Helper Jesus sends doesn’t overlook anything in your life. Nothing catches Him by surprise or distracts Him from loving you perfectly throughout the day. You’re not alone today. The Resource-Full One is your helper today. Why not ask him for his help? It only takes a moment …

“But joyful are those who have the God of Israel as their helper, whose hope is the Lord their God.” Psalm 146:5 New Living Translation

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
