“So spacious is he, so roomy, that everything of God finds its proper place in him without crowding. Not only that, but all the broken and dislocated pieces of the universe — people and things, animals and atoms — get properly fixed and fit together in vibrant harmonies, all because of his death, his blood that poured down from the cross.” Colossians 1:19-20 The Message
The Jesus Road (4): There’s room for you …
Just as you are .. there is room for your life to find healing and wholeness in the love of Christ without crowding. There is always room for you life with Jesus. All of your brokenness .. your wandering thoughts as well as your wondering thoughts .. your wounds .. and the color-starved parts of your life. There is always room for you because Jesus is in the restoring business of fitting together broken and dislocated lives. You never know when it may happen or when an old wound may surface in your life. He isn’t caught off guard or surprised at what unfolds in you. He isn’t surprised because he’s already covered it on the cross. Jesus knows exactly those places in you that are broken .. hidden .. locked away and hopefully forgotten. He’s in the business of restoring overrun lives .. out of breath lives .. and out of hope lives. What He has for you is his very breath and blood to nourish you back into health. The Cross reaches into dusty .. neglected .. and fatigued rooms found in your heart. Our lives can become so busy that we forget just how spacious and roomy Jesus really is! There’s room for you today .. always .. anytime .. and any moment .. even this moment ..
“God wants us to grow up, to know the whole truth and tell it in love — like Christ in everything. We take our lead from Christ, who is the source of everything we do. He keeps us in step with each other. His very breath and blood flow through us, nourishing us so that we will grow up healthy in God, robust in love.” Ephesians 4:14-16
Easter is the untamable celebration of the unconditional spaciousness of Jesus Christ .. Who died .. Who has risen .. and Who will come again!
