“You’ll get a brand-new name straight from the mouth of God. You’ll be a stunning crown in the palm of God’s hand, a jeweled gold cup held high in the hand of your God. No more will anyone call you Rejected, and your country will no more be called Ruined.”Isaiah 62:2-4 The Message

An All-Out New Name …?

It must be an incredible name that God has for you. Whatever your name will be .. it will no longer require your “dead-end efforts” to live up to it or exhaust you in protecting it. You’re getting a name that is at once complete and whole regarding your life. All those places of rejection will be forgotten.  All those ruins inside of you will be removed. It is amazing how hard we try to live up to other’s expectations. Relationships are ruined and friendships rejected. And too often blemishes occur that seemingly feel permanent. Not with God though! Christ’s blemish-removing life has removed all the restrictions placed on you and those you’ve placed on yourself. You can be sure of this: your new name is an “all out for God” name. You’ve been set free to live this name .. even though you still live in a broken down world. You may find yourself mocked .. forgotten .. and ignored. You may find yourself laughed at .. blamed .. and accused. But God hasn’t forgotten  you. You’ve been set free in Christ and you don’t have to work on the blemishes any longer. As you walk with Jesus they will fade. Your new name will fit you perfectly. In fact ..  you’re probably living it out in parts of your life today. Your new name must be incredible. But for today .. you are here to live for Christ. He wants to be the real effort of your life. Whatever you are facing today? It will go better with His strength and not your own. It only takes a moment …

” Through the Spirit, Christ offered himself as an unblemished sacrifice, freeing us from all those dead-end efforts to make ourselves respectable, so that we can live all out for God.” Hebrews 9:15 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
