“So spacious is he, so roomy, that everything of God finds its proper place in him without crowding.” Colossians 1:19 The Message

Is there room for God ..?

He has all the room you need. There’s room enough for all of your mess .. room enough for your sin .. room enough for your fears .. room enough for your doubts and questions .. room enough for your anger .. room enough for your life to grow whole and loved. When it comes to your life, Jesus really understands everything that goes into making you who you are. He knows your past. He knows your family history .. your strengths and weaknesses. He knows your struggles. He knows where you are desperate and where you are confident. Jesus knows exactly how much room you’ve made for His life to live in you. There is no one like Him who has all the time and space you need to grow whole and true. He won’t rush you or push you. He’ll draw you in His love to see how free your life will be in Him. He doesn’t work in the shadows .. but he’ll find you there and offer you a path into the light. If you’ll make room for God .. you’ll discover that He will bring you into a shared life with others. They’ll be walking in the light as well. You won’t have to pretend or defend your life. Even when you stumble, you’ll find others alongside to share your life and remind you of your true identity in Christ. And you’ll find yourself alongside others sharing in their lives and sharing generously the restoring and renewing grace found in Jesus. What so easily happens is that your days can become so filled and packed together that you suddenly discover there isn’t room for God. It only takes a moment to turn back to Jesus. A moment may be all that you have but that is more than enough for Christ to find room inside of you. Will you make room for Him today? It only takes a moment …

“But if we walk in the light, God himself being the light, we also experience a shared life with one another, as the sacrificed blood of Jesus, God’s Son, purges all our sin.” 1 John 1:7 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
