When God throws open the doors …

May 24, 2011

“By entering through faith into what God has always wanted to do for us—set us right with him, make us fit for him—we have it all together with God because of our Master Jesus. And that’s not all: We throw open our doors to God and discover at the same moment that he has already thrown open his door to us. We find ourselves standing where we always hoped we might stand—out in the wide open spaces of God’s grace and glory, standing tall and shouting our praise.” Romans 5:1-2 The Message

What if God showed up in your life today …?

The amazing thing about God showing up in your life is how amazed you will be at His wide-open love for you. You’re probably aware of flaws and failures and think that is His first thought of you. It isn’t …!! His first thought of you is through Jesus. Your life is all put together through faith in Christ. Yes .. there are glitches in your faith. There are flat spots and unfinished parts on your side. But on God’s side the doors are wide open into the spacious life the Lord wants you to live in His presence. Your shoulders will never slump or sag. You’ll stand tall and discover  a life of praise you never knew existed in your heart. You don’t have to wait until you’re ninety-nine for God to show up. Abram became Abraham because He trusted God’s promise and became God’s friend. The only way you can ever “live entirely” yourself before the God is in His grace. It’s His grace that opens your life “to the hilt”. God made a covenant with Abraham. It means your life is justified (free from condemnation) and you have a real peace (shalom) with the Lord and wide open access into His presence. All the burdens of your heart can be unloaded. All the worries that fill your mind can be unloaded. All the uncertainties of your life can be unloaded. You’ll find room to be yourself in His presence. And because of Jesus … the doors are wide open at this moment for you to open the doors of your heart . It only takes a moment …

“When Abram was ninety-nine years old, God showed up and said to him, “I am The Strong God (Almighty), live entirely before me, live to the hilt! I’ll make a covenant between us and I’ll give you a huge family.” Genesis 17:1-2 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
