“So don’t be afraid: I’m with you. I’ll round up all your scattered children, pull them in from east and west. I’ll send orders north and south: ‘Send them back. Return my sons from distant lands, my daughters from faraway places. I want them back, every last one who bears my name, every man, woman, and child. Whom I created for my glory, yes, personally formed and made each one.'” Isaiah 43:5-7
What’s in a Name …?
It’s not something you did or didn’t do. It has nothing to do with how hard you try everyday. It has everything to do with the complex simplicity of God’s grace-finding promise. When God found you He wrote His name on your heart. You may have wandered a long way off and He found you. It doesn’t take much to wander off. You begin with a single step or single thought and suddenly you find yourself alone on the inside. Jesus spent three years walking around a foreign occupied land finding men and women just like you .. wandering .. lost .. broken .. rejected .. lonely .. exhausted .. hopeless .. and desperate. He found the proud .. the manipulative .. the controlling .. and the power-hungry. He gave His life so that you could be found and made whole in a broken and lost world. God’s promise stands today for you .. your children .. and generations to come: He will round up His scattered children who bear His name by believing in His grace-finding Son. He knows there are a lot of voices trying to influence where you will place your hope and trust. His offer is clear and concise: Let your mind and heart soak in His Word. That means carrying it inside your life and keeping it fresh. There will always be something promising quicker results with little effort on your part. God isn’t ordering you. He’s offering you the clearest path home. Jesus told His disciples: I am the Way .. the Truth .. and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me . It’s His name .. the one above all names that defines your life. He wants to be the beginning and the end of everyday in your life. He’s not ordering you .. He’s offering you what He knows will give you strength and courage for what you are facing. It only takes a moment …
“This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success.”Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:8-9 New American Standard
