The breath you receive versus the breath that you force …?
You read a book that is literally “God-breathed”. If you can imagine the Holy Spirit’s breath breathing through the scripture authors … then imagine how much more the Lord longs to breathe His life into you. His life is love that loves deeply and extravagantly. After all .. He found you and loved you deeper than you ever thought capable. The breath that breathed letters into books still creates new life and new colors out of faded pasts. It means that wherever you are going today .. whatever you are doing today .. is a moment or opportunity for your life to reflect and represent the Life-Breathing One. “The Rabbis say that when God spoke his Name to Moses, it was the sound of breathing. And of course, when God gave life to the dirt clod that became you and me, He breathed His breath to animate the mud. It makes sense then that when I am insecure or stressed or anxious and can’t speak, I am, in essence, holding back the life I am given to be creative.” ** Jesus wants every part of your life and He will patiently love you to those ends where you will cry out to breathe the holy air of His life. It’s in His life that you will find your true life .. true love .. and true voice. You aren’t in control of those moments any more than you think you have control over this day. Only Jesus knows how to live the Christian life because He is the Christian life! What is before you today is an awesome invitation to love with the same love that God loved you with and is loving you at this very moment. Do you want to live a life you received or wear yourself out trying to force life to fit into your plans?It only takes a moment …
