“Be generous with me and I’ll live a full life; not for a minute will I take my eyes off your road. Open my eyes so I can see what you show me of your miracle-wonders.” Ps. 119:17-18 The Message
You were created to see God-wonders. But along the way your “innocence” was assaulted by growing up and living in a fallen world. It isn’t a pretty picture. And then you discover that your “innocence” was simply a cover for all kinds of broken things inside of you. You would like to blame it on someone or something besides yourself. But you can’t because you begin to “see” that what is wrong with you cannot be fixed or prescribed away. You begin to “see” that you can’t see yourself out of yourself. But God sees. He sees what He created and formed in His image. He sees all the broken things .. the secret things … and the won’t-ever-get-it-right things. And that’s when God gets generous with you. Actually it was a long time before you ever realized you couldn’t see. How generous? … Son generous … Holy Spirit generous … Grace everyday generous. He hasn’t wasted one moment of your life … even when you think you’ve wasted days .. months .. or years. The great gift of being loved by Jesus is that you begin to long for more and more of His love to become full inside of your life. And then you begin to “see”! See what ….? It only takes a moment …
“I’m a stranger in these parts; give me clear directions.” Ps. 119:19 The Message
