God’s Acceptance: Grace plus Truth

July 14, 2011

“The Word became flesh and moved into the neighborhood. We saw the glory with our own eyes, the one-of-a-kind glory, like Father, like Son, Generous inside and out, true from start to finish.” John 1:14 The Message

Everything Jesus does with you is grace-filled. He invites .. He offers .. He extends .. He blesses. When you look at Jesus you see grace and truth fully alive and fully accepting. It doesn’t make you very comfortable in reality because you are to be His ambassador of the same grace and truth. It’s inconvenient. It’s an interruption. It’s an irritation. Because the very ones who need this grace and truth don’t believe they can have a second chance or fresh start. And when you offer it often is met with suspicion or sarcasm. And so you offer again .. and again .. and again .. and again … just like Jesus did with you and still does today. Jesus is always Full of Grace and Truth with you. He accepts you and invites you to walk along with Him today. And just like that He asks if He can walk along with your life today. When you know deep down that God accepts you in full you begin to relax on the inside. The walls of fear begin to come down. All those places inside of you that no one but God sees become whole and healed. And you begin to believe it .. really believe it .. and really live like you believe it. And it all began when Jesus stepped into “your” neighborhood and moved in with a love so generous and so true that you knew then that you didn’t have to hold on to anything false anymore. It could be the smallest item or something so large that it consumes your daily life. He’s come to offer you a generous life .. a true life .. a whole life .. a life holy by His love. And it starts when He says: “Follow Me”. It’s an invitation .. generous and true .. and it only takes a moment …

“just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. … Long before he laid down earth’s foundations, he had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of his love to be made whole and holy by his love.” Ephesians 1:4 New American Standard .. and .. The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
