God’s Mission

“What you’re after is truth from the inside out. Enter me, then, conceive a new, true life.” Psalm 51:6 The Message

Do you know what God thinks when you’ve blown it .. really messed up .. and have no way back? He thinks it’s a perfect time to work His life-shaping truth into your life. He’s not waiting for you to clean up your own life first. He’s taking the initiative. Jesus prayed specifically that God the Father would work His life-shaping .. Christ-shaping .. Word-shaping truth into your inside and outside life. No one survives the devastating path of sin unless God steps in and soaks you in the truth of His Son. He knows you well enough not to leave it up to you to figure out the truth formula. He knows that left to yourself you would settle for less than truly true. So Jesus prayed that your life would be saturated with the grace and truth of His spoken .. written .. and crucified Word. Your life really can’t grow and change without it. It’s not enough that you “want” to change or be different. It takes His heart-breaking truth to break you and His heart-changing truth to heal you. God won’t stop or settle for less than your whole life becoming whole in Christ. Anything less would not be true. And He can’t be anything less but full of grace and truth with you. It’s the way He always is .. and it only takes a moment …

“Make them holy — consecrated — with the truth. Your word is consecrating truth.” John 17:17 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
