Found …

“.. For the Son of Man came to find and restore the lost.” Luke 19:10 The Message

He couldn’t be any more intentional about His mission. You were it! Except .. you didn’t know it at first and even when you realized it .. you resisted it .. at first. The mirror you’ve been looking into in this broken world is warped and distorted. You’ve never seen the real you like that the Son of Man has seen. He saw you lost .. directionless .. and dislocated. Even when you were determined and in control you were wandering aimless without His help and without His restored shape in your life. So He came looking for you and found you. He’s relentless that way. You were never disposable in Christ’s eyes. You may look in a mirror and see shapes and lines and miles of life. He sees restored grace in every crease .. every scar .. and every minute of your life. And Jesus loves it when you see yourself “along the same lines” as His life. It takes time .. Son of Man time for his restoring grace to bring color in those places where life has been drained away. Maybe you wasted it .. abused it .. or was abused until living felt like dying. He could have picked the best .. the brightest .. and the brilliant. That wasn’t and has never been His mission. He came to find the lost .. restore the broken .. and indwell your life with His. In His restoring grace scars become a story. In His restoring grace wrong addresses become walking paths to your true home. In His restoring grace loveless living becomes resurrection love and the empty places are filled with the life of the Son of Man! He came looking and found you. Used-to-be-lost lives become Never-to-be-lost-again lives. Jesus is the Restorer of broken lives and broken loves. He’s come for you and He’s found you. It only takes a moment …

“He decided from the outset to shape the lives of those who love him along the same lines as the life of His Son.” Romans 8:29 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
