The Never Quitting Slate Cleaner

October 11, 2011

“Thank God! He deserves your thanks. His love never quits. Thank the God of all gods. His love never quits. Thank the Lord of all lords. His love never quits.” Psalm 136:1-3 The Message

God is a lot of things .. but when it comes to your life He never quits. His love never quits in any corner or any moment of your life. There are so many moments .. circumstances .. and seasons in your life that try to conspire and whisper into your heart that God has walked away from you. But instead Jesus steps into your life with “grace and truth” and begins the real healing .. helping .. and hope-filling work of changing you from the inside out. From the start to the finish of your life is God’s great grip: His love never quits! Jesus showed us with a woman at a well .. with a shame-filled leper .. with a disabled friend lowered through a roof .. with a wrong-passioned-caught woman thrown at His feet .. with a towel and a basin of water .. and with a piece of bread and a cup of wine. His nail scarred hands and feet never quit on Thomas .. His beach side breakfast restored his 3-time denying friend and follower .. and His promise to never leave or abandon us guards us at this very moment. There isn’t a safer place in the world outside of His love and indwelling presence. Your record .. all those things you’ve ever done wrong have been wiped clean. And all those sins…? They are buried beneath an ocean of grace. Whatever you are facing today…? His love never quits. Whatever you are feeling today…? His love never quits. Whatever you are carrying inside today…? His love never quits. Whatever you are fretting over…? His love never quits. You can open your hands and let Him grip with His grace. You can open your heart and receive everything that “He is” for your life today. You can open up all those doors closed shut inside. You can because He’ll help you. And it only takes a moment …

“Where is the god who can compare with you — wiping the slate clean of guilt. … You’ll sink our sins to the bottom of the ocean.” Micah 7:18-19 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
