Jesus said …

October 21, 2011

“However, those the Father has given me will come to me, and I will never reject them. 38 For I have come down from heaven to do the will of God who sent me, not to do my own will.” John 6:37-38 The New Living Translation

Jesus never worried over who found their way to Him or how they found Him. He knew it wasn’t an accident .. a coincidence .. or random. He knew Who was directing every step or every man or woman into His presence. It didn’t matter what your background was .. where you came from .. or what led you to seek His face. Jesus welcomed you .. and still does today. You never have to wonder about whether Jesus will accept you. In His eyes you were led each step of the way by His Father .. and that is all that mattered to Him. The whole force of His will was focused on accepting you .. not scrutinizing or questioning your motives. And you don’t to wonder if He’s ever going to let go. He’s not. Because once you “see” who He is and believe .. you begin to live your real life. And Jesus goes one step further into the deepest recesses of your heart: He lets you in on a secret: Your once old .. now new life will be raised up to be “with Him” forever. There is a lot that goes on when you see and believe. You not only see Jesus and who He is .. but you also see you and who you are apart from Him. So when you believe you’re opening up every area of your life for Jesus to “do the will of God in you”. It takes the pressure off that it is up to you to finish what He started. Instead .. you get to trust that Jesus knows perfectly how to fit all the pieces of your life together into one whole. This is usually where we stumble or step back from trusting Him because God doesn’t “seem” to work fast enough. But Jesus doesn’t let go and He’s never going to let go of you. Therefore you can step into this day with all its incomplete parts knowing that Jesus isn’t going to change His mind about you. Today is in His hands … and it only takes a moment …

“And this is the will of God, that I should not lose even one of all those he has given me, but that I should raise them up at the last day. For it is my Father’s will that all who see his Son and believe in him should have eternal life. I will raise them up at the last day.”” John 6:39-40 The New Living Translation

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
