No reservations …

November 28, 2011

“Every time I think of you — and I think of you often! – I thank God for your lives of free and open access to God, given by Jesus. There’s no end to what has happened in you — it’s beyond speech, beyond knowledge. The evidence of Christ has been clearly verified in your lives.” 1 Cor. 1:4-6 The Message

When it comes to your life Jesus doesn’t have any restrictions .. any reservations .. or any restraints. He’s not tied in knots about your past or conflicted over your fears. He’s not anxious about your future. He knows that without His life you would be stuck inside hidden shames .. self-repeating sins and suffocating habits. You were born spiritually misaligned. No amount of self-effort can realign your life with God apart from Jesus. You grew up genetically deficient. No amount of self-love can restore what the love of Jesus does in one moment of time. Maybe you’ve lived perpetually misunderstood. No amount of self-promotion can ever substitute the wholeness of what Jesus’ life does in you. No matter what your family background looked like or how you grew up … there was a false you that only finds freedom and open access to God through Jesus. (And sometimes that false you still tries to take the lead.) The evidence of Christ is not anything you can manufacture. His life is fully shared .. fully forgiving and forgiving fully .. and fully longing to share this life with others. You may think at times that God has given up on you. Maybe you’ve stepped over the line too many times or not taken those steps that you knew in your heart that the Lord was leading in your life. “He will never give up on you”. That is today .. now .. for you. It really is an adventure and it is shared in Christ. That is where His rest enters your life in the faith He brings to life in you. It only takes a moment …

“God, who got you started in this spiritual adventure, shares with us the life of his Son and our Master Jesus. He will never give up on you. Never forget that.” 1 Cor. 1:9 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
