Disruptively Loved

December 12, 2011
“You know me inside and out, you hold me together, you never fail to stand me tall in your presence so I can look you in the eye.” Ps. 41:12 The Message

A follower of Jesus is a marked man or woman. You live today knowing that God knows you inside and out … an incredible freedom .. and an even more incredible identity. Your life is known as being identified with Jesus Christ .. a barn-born baby and a by-roads messiah. He was as comfortable inside a temple as he was sitting in a boat or sitting on a hillside. When you encounter this Jesus you don’t discover Someone who makes you feel guilty or places any demands on you. You’r suddenly are aware of all “those” places inside of yourself that lack life and love. The world around you may see your outside scars and limitations but the Lord sees you as you really are in His presence. And if you are following Him today you know with a grace-filled humility that it is His life that is holding you together. And you know that one day there will be another Arrival. It’s not one you need to worry about because you know that He’s promised to come for you just like He did 2000 years ago .. as if it were yesterday. You’re free to live today .. to live the life that is deeply loved by the Lord. You’ll stand out though .. because few dare to live as if they are that deeply and disruptively loved by that kind Angel-Dispatching-Lord. But today is your day to live that way .. and it only takes a moment …

“Then, the Arrival of the Son of Man! It will fill the skies — no one will miss it. Unruly people all over the world, outsiders to the splendor and power, will raise a huge lament as they watch the Son of Man blazing out of heaven. At that same moment, he’ll dispatch his angels with a trumpet-blast summons, pulling in God’s chosen from the four winds, from pole to pole.” Matt. 24:30-31 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
