Alignment …

May 31, 2012

“This is what the Father wants: that anyone who sees the Son and trusts who he is and what he does and then aligns with him will enter real life, eternal life. My part is to put them on their feet alive and whole at the completion of time.” John 6:40 The Message

Everything begins to change when Jesus is the main character in your world. His life begins to grow over and into everything in your life. You’ll be amazed in some areas and greatly annoyed in those places where you have maintained control for a long time … even rather successfully. But this is what happens when you begin to “see” Jesus for who He is and what he has done. You can maintain a devoted life without seeing but it won’t be an intimate life with Christ. The intimate life He offers is one where He is put you together .. on your feet .. and making you whole along the way. Those are areas you used to govern and have the final say. But now .. you’ve given Jesus that exclusive right to align your life. It almost never happens at the speed or ease that you desire. There are so many moving parts and parts of your life that are out-of-aligned. God’s plan is to align you in grace .. truth .. and a wholeness made out of freedom in Him. He’s got all the time in this world to work in your life. The restoration work that God is doing in you is a complete work. You may have a few ideas of your own but God’s realigning work is “all” his idea and “all his work. We’re not used to that kind of real life program. But God is! You are His business and the Lord will not do a haphazard work of grace in your life. Everything He does reflects who He is. He wants you alive and He knows how to finish that work in you. Your part is the trusting … and that only takes a moment .. and then another moment .. until trusting is your new nature.

“Now God has us where he wants us, with all the time in this world and the next to shower grace and kindness upon us in Christ Jesus. Saving is all his idea, and all his work.” Ephesians 2:7 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
