“…that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith …” Ephesians 3:16-17 New American Standard

“If you are not wholly convinced that Jesus Christ is willing and able to take over, you will hang on desperately to whatever you think you are in yourself. If you keep hanging on, you can be absolutely certain you will never know the profound peace that comes from allowing the Lord Jesus Christ to assume responsibility for your life” (The Major). Long before a saintly major wrote these words, a rogue rabbi turned Christ-follower prayed that you would know the deep abiding .. indwelling life of Christ. He didn’t pray that Christ would just move in but the He would take over. It wouldn’t happen by brute strength but with a love that stretches into every corner of your life. It’s the kind of Life that exchanges the former you with a new you empowered by His Spirit. It’s the kind of life that lives through faith. It’s the kind of Life that grounds you against all onslaughts. It’s the kind of Life that holds you together with a love more real than anything you have ever possessed. You’ll breathe the grace-filled air that Christ has assumed responsibility for your life and you can quit trying to hold on. Jesus never intended for you to manage your life and try to find love in the process. He always intended for you to know a life of profound peace rooted in His abiding love. The storms and assaults will happen … but Christ will hold you together .. in love .. in faith .. and in the fullness of His Spirit. And as for today … it only takes a moment …

“…and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to the fullness of God.” Ephesians 3:17-19 New American Standard

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
