Learning from Jesus …

June 28, 2012

“We take our lead from Christ, who is the source of everything we do. He keeps us in step with each other. His very breath and blood flow through us, nourishing us so that we will grow up healthy in God, robust in love.” Ephesians 4:15-16 The Message

God offers you something so incredible that it seems too good to be true: His life as the source of everything you do. He offers you his very life to lead you and nourish you when you run dry .. run out strength .. run out of patience .. run out of faith .. or just can’t stop running. Jesus doesn’t want you to be confused about who He is. He freely invites you to “walk” with him. That’s the very essence of a relationship. He’s not in a hurry when it comes to your life. Life outside of Christ is forced in just about every corner of this world. Relationships outside of Christ are rarely valued in love. Robust love is exactly how God wants your life to function today. It is exactly how He wants you to live in Him. He knows there are wounds .. doubts .. and insecurities in your heart. So He invites you to “watch” how He lives .. loves .. and works in a fallen and broken world. . His whole aim is that your life would be “robust in love”. A cross and an empty grave turned incredibly true into incredibly real in your life. His amazing grace for your life is just what He promises: unforced. When you keep company with Jesus you will indeed learn to live “freely and lightly”. You can’t live any other way in His presence. You’ll either turn away or let go of those things in your life that don’t fit and weigh you down. He’ll even help you. Incredibly true .. Incredibly real .. and Incredibly alive …. It only takes a moment …

“Walk with me and work with me — watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” Matt. 11:29-30 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
