Once out … now in

July 20, 2012

“Now because of Christ — dying that death, shedding that blood — you who were once out of it altogether are in on everything.” Ephesians 2:13 The Message

There was no other way to reach your life. Pleading .. begging .. going before you .. guarding behind you .. and promising you His blessings didn’t melt your heart or mind to love Him or serve the Lord with a willing spirit. There is still no other way than the life of Christ .. dying .. exchanging his life and blood for your life. One Christ-filled man in a city of asphalt wrote about this gospel news: “A gospel is an announcement of something that has happened in history, something that’s been done for you that changes your status forever.”. That something is the someone of Christ. His life is the inexhaustible riches and generosity of God’s love and life-changing grace in your life. In the truest sense you and I are always sharing of “God-things” way over our heads. But it’s God’s great plan to use lives like yours who remember being on the outside but now are in on everything He is doing. And being on the inside means everyday .. and even today is a another moment to share the generosity of Christ . You don’t have know what it may look like. You only have to open your eyes and ask the Father to guide you steps .. use your words .. and pour his grace through your actions so another life just like yours might be brought inside from the barren outside. In Christ you are inside on what God is doing in the world you live in. Where would He start? With you … and then the lives you cross all day long. His supply is inexhaustible. If you try to do it on your own you will quickly discover how exhausting it is to live the Christian life without Christ. There’s no need … His life and generosity for you only takes a moment …

” And so here I am, preaching and writing about things that are way over my head, the inexhaustible riches and generosity of Christ.” Ephesians 3:8 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
