The road’s clear …

July 24, 2012

“May God the Father himself and our Master Jesus clear the road to you! And may the Master pour on the love so it fills your lives and splashes over on everyone around you, just as it does from us to you.” 1 Thessalonians 3:11-12 The Message

Jesus has cleared away everything between you and God: the Father .. the Son .. and the Holy Spirit. Everything of His life has been exchanged for everything in your life. And yet, you are well aware of unfinished areas .. personal flaws .. and issues that linger around your heart and mind. But in God’s sight the road is clear straight to your heart. The true picture of your life today is Jesus pouring .. pouring .. and pouring His love all over your life. He’s pouring into the deepest places of your past .. the driest places .. the fear-filled places .. the faith-made-whole places .. and all the places in you where His life splashes all over you. And what you discover is that God loves to extravagantly splash His love and life not only in you but through you and all around you. As an old major once wrote: “When we as human beings make ourselves available to Jesus Christ in the same way that Jesus as Man made Himself available to the Father, then Jesus will be to us in our humanity what the Father was to Him in His humanity. That is the whole Christian life in a nutshell!” This is the life He offers you. All that Jesus has to offer you is everything of Himself .. and all He is asking of you is everything. Before you’ve even offered the Lord anything He has already offered everything on your behalf. He’ll be your strength. He’ll be your purity. And if He has to waste more and more of His love on you to trust Him .. well .. He’ll splash you until you think you can’t possibly hold one more drop! It only takes a moment

“May you be infused with strength and purity, filled with confidence in the presence of God our Father when our Master Jesus arrives with all his followers.” 1 Thessalonians 3:13 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
