Because you were worth it …

August 10, 2012

“Because I am God, our personal God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior. I paid a huge price for you: all of Egypt, with rich Cush and Seba thrown in! That’s how much you mean to me! That’s how much I love you! I’d sell off the whole world to get you back, trade the creation just for you.” Isaiah 43:3-4 The Message

If there was any other way … God would have used it. But instead, He traded All that had for you. Why? Because in His eyes you were worth it. For thousands of years he provided for .. protected .. and promised his desert dwelling family that He would never abandon them. They had nothing to offer him in return but their hearts and their everyday lives lived for His honor and glory. And even then he was a step in front of them and always a step behind them. And like you .. they repeatedly broke their promises and tried to make life work on their terms. And now .. just like then God never wavered from his promise. And instead of drawing a line and waiting for them and you .. the Lord traded everything away in order to get you back. It was and is the only way to win your whole heart. But with God comes the promise of life: life for your children .. life for sons and daughters in faraway places. And why? Because the Lord wants you back .. he wants you sons and daughters back .. he wants all of you back .. safe .. whole .. and bearing his Name. He became a Traded-Away Savior so you could become an Unbelievably-Traded-For Creation. That’s how much Jesus loved you. That’s the power of forgiveness. That’s how much your were worth on God’s side. And when it comes to your life … God has never regretted his trade. In fact.. He would do it all again. You’re worth that much. It only takes a moment …

“So don’t be afraid; I’m with you. I’ll round up all your scattered children, pull them in from east and west. I’ll send orders north and south: ‘Send them back. Return my sons from distant lands, my daughters from faraway places. I want them back, every last one who bears my name, every man, woman, and child, Whom I created for my glory, yes, personally formed and made each one.'” Isaiah 43:5-7 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
