A Way of Life …

September 5, 2012

“… so that you can see exactly what it is he is calling you to do, grasp the immensity of this glorious way of life he has for his followers, oh the utter extravagance of his work in us who trust him — endless energy, boundless strength.” Ephesians 1:18-19 The Message

Trusting in Christ becomes a way of life. You begin to see the world you live in through his eyes .. through his Spirit .. and through his strength. Just think of the “utter extravagance” of Christ’s work in you. You’ve been loved at the deepest corners of your life. There is nothing in you that is out of reach from Christ’s resurrection power. You’ve been changed from the inside out. Everything about the way you live becomes a way that Jesus can show the world what he is like as Lord and Savior. When Christ rules your heart and life .. then nothing about you is peripheral to the world. It doesn’t matter whether your life is very public or quietly unnoticed. Jesus is at work filling your life with his presence. He’s at work in your life at this very moment. Trust is a way of life for every follower of Jesus. It’s the same life He lived before his death. It’s the same life He will live in you by faith. Faith isn’t having all the answers. It’s placing your life with all of your strengths and weaknesses .. all of your struggles and failures .. and all of your hopes in Christ. What does this day hold for you? In Christ … it takes only a moment …

“At the center of all this, Christ rules the church. The church, you see, is not peripheral to the world; the world is peripheral to the church. The church is Christ’s body, in which he speaks and acts, by which he fills everything with his presence.” Ephesians 1:22-23 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
