What is your starting point today …?

“We take our lead from Christ, who is the source of everything we do. He keeps us in step with each other. His very breath and blood flow through us, nourishing us so that we will grow up healthy in God, robust in love.” Ephesians 4:16 The Message

It’s so easy to start out on your own and ask God for help along the way. You can do it any area: marriage .. work .. planning your time .. your possessions .. investments .. and even planning your future. You live in a world that constantly wants you to focus first on you. The Life you have received in Christ is completely opposite. Christ thought of you first .. not himself. He came to serve you .. not to be served. He even restored one of his closest disciples who trashed him in his moment of need and chose to think of himself instead of Jesus. You don’t learn to put Christ first in everything all at once. God keeps reminding you that He will lead you .. guide you .. and show you the way forward in your life … if you will trust Him. What you trust is what you put first. The great thing about God is that He tells you up front Who he is: “source of everything .. who keeps you in step with each other”. He wants you to grow up healthy in Christ.. robust in love. God reveals who He is so that you can rest in your trusting Him. He knows the decisions you are facing in your life. He knows if you are taking your lead from Him and truly trusting Him as the source of your decisions and choices. And in all of these decisions and choices is the unique connection you share with other CHrist followers and the daily calling to walk the “same road” with others. That’s not always easy as there are sometimes serious differences of how we live this life in Christ. And yet you are .. and we are .. to take our lead from Christ. God’s heart is for you to live a life fully alive in His love .. fully alive in His Son .. and fully alive with others .. in Christ. From Christ .. in Christ .. for Christ .. through Christ .. He only takes a moment …

“You were called to travel on the same road and in the same direction, so stay together, both outwardly and inwardly. You have one Master, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who rules over all, works through all, and is present in all.” Ephesians 4:5 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
