Available for ….?

“I was made a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace that was given to me by the working of His power.” Ephesians 3:7 Holman Christian Standard

The Gospel of Jesus Christ frees you from having to strive for God’s acceptance. When you become a “servant of the gospel” every area of your life is a possibility where the light of God’s grace can shine. It .. the gospel .. isn’t about you. You’ve life is available for God’s power to work through for others to see His grace for their lives. Every area of your life is open: your marriage .. your friends .. your work .. and all those places you visit planned and unplanned. As a servant of the gospel you don’t have to worry about being noticed or trying to get your point across. You’re available for God’s unsearchable riches to pour through into another life. We don’t mind serving as a rule. We just don’t like being treated as servants .. unnoticed .. unappreciated .. unknown .. and sometimes unloved. But .. you aren’t just a servant. You are a servant of the “gospel” and in that little word is packed the life of Jesus Christ. You are His servant .. available .. abiding .. adopted .. and abundantly loved. You’re not His unnoticed servant. He knows where you walk every day. He knows the difficulties you face .. the challenges in your life .. the secret sorrows and sufferings .. the insecurities no one else sees. He sees and knows everything about your life. He knows how subtle the titles and privileges of this world conspire to diminish your calling to be his servant. He knows the conflict between being served and serving. You are His servant through the “working of His power” .. resurrection power .. grace-overflowing power .. Christ-in-me power. And His gift of all that power and grace is to free you to love and live as a servant of the gospel. Are you prepared to serve today .. with a grace filled heart .. a peace filled mind .. and His power as your strength? The gospel .. it only takes a moment …

“Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.” Colossians 2:6-7 Holman Christian Standard

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
