On your behalf …

October 5, 2012

“My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.” 1 John 2:1 New American Standard

What a gospel: Jesus sacrificed his life for your sins .. and our sins. He “solved” the problem of sin. But it doesn’t end there. When you sin, Jesus is standing up for your defense. He’s actually talking about you with God the Father .. and His words are enough because His life is enough. The problem has been solved but that three letter word ‘sin’ causes all kinds of dis-ease .. damage .. and discontent in your life. And yet Jesus stands in your place and God sees a righteous life in his presence on your behalf. We really don’t grasp the full weight of that moment. Jesus has solved the sin problem in your life. It’s been announced .. atoned for .. and answered forever. He hasn’t left you alone but given you His Spirit to do the deep work of healing .. restoring .. and rebuilding all of sin-infected areas of your life. The Sin-less One steps right into the center of your sin-filled life and applies his sin-free life for every sin you have or will ever commit. Sin is just not a word we like near our lives. But you still sin and He still stands up for your complete forgiveness. And God comes to your life … God doesn’t even remember it. Jesus is your Advocate .. free of charge .. freeing you of all charges .. and freely pouring all of His life into every corner of your life. Today .. you can start free .. fresh .. and forgiven. It only takes a moment …

“When he served as a sacrifice for our sins, he solved the sin problem for good — not only ours, but the whole worlds.” 1 John 2:2 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
