When Christ moves in ….

October 17, 2012

” … so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith ..” Ephesians 3:17 New American Standard

Where Christ dwells his love and truth become whole. They grow to become everything in you that is good. When Christ dwells in your life he is going “room by room” through your heart .. cleansing all those places you will never reach. He’s clearing out all those boxes marked with years of half-truths and lies trying to disguise themselves in you as a “kind of love”. His truth becomes whole in you. You begin to speak the truth with true love. You begin to live unguarded and unafraid. You’re not afraid because Christ is dwelling in you. He’s really alive in your life. You don’t have to try harder everyday hoping that he’ll stay around. You don’t have to “do” anything. When Christ moves in … He moves in for keeps. He’s not waiting for you to make a mistake and move out. He hasn’t leased space in your life. He’s paid for your whole life and you’re becoming his masterpiece of grace and truth. And you’re learning to actually live life with Christ in everything .. in everywhere you go .. with everyone in your life. That’s what happens when truth and love become whole in you. That’s what happens where Christ dwells by faith. (Faith is described as: “this firm foundation that makes life worth living.”) The world offers you a lifestyle and you try to fill in the gaps. Christ offers you Life and you grow up healthy in Him .. “robust in love”! Who could ever imagine that a man imprisoned for his faith in Jesus would leave behind a prayer that is the deepest nourishment you need today? Whatever you are facing today: Will you let Christ take the lead? It may feel un-natural .. un-comfortable .. and even un-believable. But with Christ you are promised that He is always un-failing in his love and care for you. Room by room … it only takes a moment …

“God wants us to grow up, to know the whole truth and tell it in love — like Christ in everything. We take our lead from Christ, who is the source of everything we do. He keeps us in step with each other. His very breath and blood flow through us, nourishing us so that we will grow up healthy in God, robust in love.” Ephesians 4:15-16 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
