What makes your life work…?

November 2, 2012

“By his Son, God created the world in the beginning, and it will all belong to the Son at the end. The Son perfectly mirrors God, and is stamped with God’s nature. He holds everything together by what he says — powerful words!” Hebrews 1:2-3 The Message

Your life was created in the image of God … and God created you out of the image of His Son. It is His life that holds you together and makes life work. You can try anything else and it will eventually lead to emptiness. You can accomplish every goal .. acquire every desire .. achieve every success .. and without Christ in the center it leads to emptiness. Why? Because God created you to live with His presence filling the center of every living cell in your body. Or .. in other words … with Him in the center of your whole life. God designed your life to find its fullness in Jesus. It is in His Life that your life will come together. Just think of how many areas you are trying to hold together at this moment. And with His life your life gets “stamped with God’s nature” and filled with His power … real power for the smallest task or the most difficult. It’s not just power when you need it .. but Son-indwelling-power to live today .. really live.  That means that Jesus .. his life in you .. becomes part of everything you are going to do today. This is the life that Jesus offers you today. Major Ian Thomas traveled the world with this message: “.. only Christ is capable of living the Christian life, for the very obvious and simple reason that He is the Christian life.” This is what makes your life work … and it only takes a moment …

“You don’t need a telescope, a microscope, or a horoscope to realize the fullness of Christ, and the emptiness of the universe without him. When you come to him, that fullness comes together for you, too. His power extends over everything.” Colossians 2:10 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
