More to come …

December 10, 2012

“But when God, our kind and loving Savior God, stepped in, he saved us from all that. It was all his doing; we had nothing to do with it. He gave us a good bath, and we came out of it new people, washed inside and out by the Holy Spirit. Our Savior Jesus poured out new life so generously. God’s gift has restored our relationship with him and given us back our lives. And there’s more to come — an eternity of life! You can count on it.” Titus 3:4-8 The Message

God is up to something in your life. It’s not just your life but every life around you. As one pastor commented: “God’s love is so great that He actually begins the conversation that opens your life to his truth”: about yourself .. about Jesus .. and about what He has done and is doing. God begins every work in your life that leads you back to His Son. He’s in the business of erasing the old names you’ve called yourself or attached to your life: Beyond-Help .. Unforgivable .. Forgotten .. Abandoned .. and You-Had-Your-Chance. For hundreds of years the Lord has declared what your new name is through this Savior: “Holy People, God-Redeemed .. Sought-Out .. and City-Not-Forsaken. His love is generous because that is who God is. Your life before Christ…? It doesn’t matter to Him. He’s washed you inside and out. You are surrounded by his presence: Surrounded .. Saturated .. Soaked .. and Bathed by the Holy Spirit. And God …? He’s broadcasting it through the whole world. About the world you live in? About the world you never see? About you? About your family? About your marriage? About every place your life inhabits. In Christ .. the Lord has given you your life back. No .. it isn’t the life you had. It’s the life you’ve been given through Christ. He’s working through all the choices and layers of your life today. There are places you wish he would move faster. What you can rest in today is that you can “count on it”. He’s making something new in you. And it only takes a moment …

“Walk out of the gates. Get going! Get the road ready for the people. Build the highway. Get at it! Clear the debris, hoist high a flag, a signal to all peoples! Yes! God has broadcast to all the world: “Tell daughter Zion, ‘Look! Your Savior comes, ready to do what he said he’d do, prepared to complete what he promised.’ Zion will be called new names: Holy People, God-Redeemed, Sought-Out, City-Not-Forsaken.” Isaiah 62:1-12 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
