“We see the original and intended shape of our lives there in him.” Romans 8:29 The Message

It is one of the hardest things to imagine as being “really real”. Your original and intended shape of life is found in Christ. His life restores all those places inside of you that you’ve tried to cover up .. makeover .. reinvent .. repent and reprint. It’s hard to see God’s original shape because of all the mess you’ve made of things. And it’s just as hard to see God’s original shape when the path you’ve walked upon has been smooth .. successful .. and on balance pretty good. Both sides of those lives make it hard to see God’s original shape for your life in Christ. The Message never wavers. In order to restore your life Jesus poured out his life for you. That act of generosity alone should unleash in you a creative wave of generosity in how you live your life every day.(Of course, there are bad days and bad moments that dry up the reservoirs in your heart. God knows all about those things too!) That generosity is packaged so expertly by the Holy Spirit so that the evidence you leave behind doesn’t point back at you but forward to Christ. The more that life is pointed and pressed away from God’s design, the more those lives becomes obsessed with disguising and decorating fatally marred selves until no one knows who they are … even themselves. God is the master of peeling back layer upon layer and restoring the Life he has designed for you in Jesus. He knows how easily we manage to pile layers of “false-ness” upon ourselves until we just give up trying to be good. God intends so much more for your life than just doing good and trying to be good. He is the new life restoration business. And what He has for you today is a gift .. a generous gift of His Spirit .. a generous gift of grace poured out and poured into your life. No matter how pressed you may be, you’ll find that the Lord has a great and grace-filled supply of Life for your life today. It doesn’t matter whether you are all alone or surrounded with bodies of everyday noises. There is Jesus generously waiting and willing to pour into you today. It only takes a moment …

“Our Savior Jesus poured out new life so generously. God’s gift has restored our relationship with him and given us back our lives.” Titus 3:7 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
