Your real life ….?

January 10, 2013

“For to me, to live is Christ and to die is to gain.” Philippians 1:21 New American Standard

To let Christ be your real life today is to invite Him into every corner .. every room .. and every second of your life. That is the Life he lived .. the Life he died for .. and the Life he offers you today. “To live is Christ” intersects every message that this world seeks to confuse and twist your life. In Christ .. you become His messenger of hope .. His ambassador of grace .. and His message of resurrection living. It is Christ who now defines your life. It’s not what you have .. what you do .. or what you’ve done that defines you. Who Jesus is and becomes in your life takes all the pressure to make life work and try desperately to find acceptance and worth from yourself. Your old life tried indeed .. maybe successfully to define and establish your life as being good or someone to admire. The old you is exactly what you become apart from Christ: old. What a great promise and gift from God to hear and know that your real life is found in Christ. He is your real life! You’re free to live in a way that contradicts the world you live in. Jesus Christ wants to live His life through you today .. as a husband .. as a wife .. as a mother or father .. a friend .. as his visible work of grace. You can smile inside because you know how incredible it really is that God loves you that much. And not only that … He wants to fill your life all the grace and truth that He is. His life will cover all the lies you’ve told yourself or heard over the years. His life will open your eyes to see his redeeming love all around you. His life will shape and guide your steps today. To live is Christ … go ahead .. trust him .. take him at his word .. let him have your old life .. let him be your real life today! … it only takes a moment …

“Your old life is dead. Your new life, which is your real life — even though invisible to spectators — is with Christ in God. He is your life.” Colossians 3:3 The Message

About Ken Chester

I love seeing Christ become alive and real in someone's life. It is amazing what happens when Jesus moves in and starts to renovate a life. When I'm not riding my road bike, I am usually walking our corgi named Trinity (she came that way) and corgi-lab named Lowrider. Carolyn and I are transforming our backyard. And a book is on the way. ...Stay tuned ... Ken
